Kia Ora Whanau. This SLJ activity I chose is a SLJ activity called Art for Art Sake and this activity is about Silhouette Art. For this activity we have to sketch or use google drawing or take an image of someone in your family on side view, then we have to colour in the image black and fill in with a white background. One thing I learned from this activity was that the word “Silhouette” traced back to early mid-18th century French, finance minister Etinne de Silhouette. Etinne de Silhouette likes to make this kind of image of him so this art was formed and named after him.

Kia ora, this is my third SLJ activity blog post. For this activity we have to find a blog post to read and then we have to make a kind comment for it. I chose one of my friend’s blog posts to comment on and he is called Jacob. My favourite part of this activity was reading his blog post, it was about superpowers. For our blog post we have to use the success criteria to help write our comments which include positive, thoughtful and helpful sentence.

Kia Ora, it is my second SLJ activity. For this Activity we have to design our own dream Summer House in google drawing. I chose my summer house to be built & designed about candies. I chose 5 kinds of candies to build and design, chocolate, lollipop, gum fruits, caramel and plastic wrap candy. My favourite part of this activity was designing my dream Summer House it was very fun and hard.

Kia ora koutou, this is my first actual 2022/23 SLJ activity. For this activity we have to make a poem for summer because it is summer. First we have to make a copy of a Google slide and follow the instructions.  For our instructions we have to write some ideas down about our poem and then we get to write a poem. My favourite part of the activity was making an image for my poem.

In Te Ngahere we had a new SLJ activity.  For this activity we had to choose an art from “Art Colouring Book”. I chose the Christmas edition because it is nearly Christmas. In the Christmas edition I chose an image that’s about Christmas music, in that image it has 3 people including two musicians and a child sing Christmas song. My favourite part of this activity is colouring the image. we get to use 16 different colours to colour in the image, also we get to do whatever colour we want on the image.

In Te Ngahere we had a new SLJ activity. For this activity we get to be a superhero for a day and we could choose 3 superpower with us. First superpower I choose will be invisibility because that make people can’t see me and I can do whatever I want. The second superpower I choose are super speed because if I ran fast enough then people cannot catch me. The third superpower I choose are mind control because if I use mind control I could control other people. If I get those superpower I would help people and save the world.

In Te Ngahere we had a new SLJ challenge. For this challenge we imagined to be the principal of our school for a week and we have to write down 5 things that we will change. The first thing I will change my playtime into 40 minutes and change lunchtime into 20 minutes. For the second thing I will change our learning time into self managing but you have to make a different thing every block. Third thing I will change weekend time into 3 days, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. For my fourth thing I will change Monday and Thursday into a fun day and change Wednesday into a music day. For last I will make parties every morning.

Have you imagined to be your school principal for a week?   

In Te Ngahere We had other new SLJ activity. For this activity we have to do some research and make a profile for “Lorde” (New Zealand famous singer). We had to find at least five interesting facts about Lorde. I learnt different facts about Lorde like Lorde was born on the 7th of November 1996. One thing I thought hard is that you have to find different interesting fact about Lorde.

Who is your favourite singer?

In Te Ngahere we had a new SLJ activity last week. For this SLJ activity we get to change our name, If I get to change my name I will change it into James. I got that inspiration from one of my favourite NBA players LeBron James. The reason I chose his last name because I thought Lebron is his own first name so I chose his last name. Also I would choose that because my original name starts with J and James also starts with J.   

Have you ever changed your name before?                     

In Te Ngahere We had another new SLJ(Summer Learning Journey) activity. For this activity we get to choose our favourite book and make a new book cover for it. My favourite book is “Diary of minecraft creeper Book 6 : Methane Mayhem”I made a new book cover for my favourite book and I added different details about what happened in the story. One thing that I thought is hard is that we have to make a new book cover without copying the original one and also we can’t use images from online.
